EDM challenge # 291
We have had multiple distractions of late, the worst one being a planned trip to Arkansas to help friends move to Kansas. They were there for both of us when we were teenagers; unfortunately both are dealing with a degree of dementia. The process of moving them closer to their daughter has been a nightmare! Now that their house has finally sold and they have finally been convinced that they are buying a house in Kansas, the time of the actual move has been changed multiple times. So our other plans keep changing as well . . .
Anyway, with all this stuff up in the air, it is easier for me to go back to drawing a few more of the Everyday Matters challenges than to go out to find something to draw. The next one on the list is to draw an illustration for the cover of a favorite book; there was a similar challenge that I chose my favorite book, The Lord of the Rings, so this time I did a cover for Outlander. I always thought there should be standing stones on the cover.

Fantastic drawing. It looks like I could pick it right up and start reading! The celtic knot underneath really sets it off nicely. Your church notes are interesting too. We all pray for revival, but the sad truth is that if revival hit, the "church" would not be ready... something I have been thinking about lately.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Roma!
DeleteThe church is not ready . . . which is why so many of us are praying for the church to wake up and "get real" with the Lord, returning to what matters. Only God can bring about such change but we are called to pray.
Love your sketch! What a great book! I tried to start on the 2nd one but just couldn't get into.
ReplyDeleteI remember the first time I read the second book: what a shock! But Diana doesn't like to repeat what she's done before so her writing style changes from book to book.
DeleteIf you can get through the second book, the third is much better (with the best opening lines ever written!). My favorite will always be the first; my second favorite is the eighth book, published last year. By now, Jamie and Claire are closer to my own age and dealing with the American Revolution.
