Recent winds around this part of central Texas have rivaled normal winds of Kansas. I noticed that several blooms had blown off of a potted plant in downtown Somerville before they had a chance to open. I'm not sure what the plant is, but I sketched one of the remaining blooms as well.

  1. Hi Vicky, it looks like double petal hibiscus, lovely sketches...

  2. I wasn't sure what it was -- it grows in a pot on the sidewalk near our church. But yesterday while shopping, my husband found another plant like it for sale. It is indeed a hibiscus!

  3. Hibiscus is quite favourite plant here, but it grows only in pot, not in nature. It comes from somewhere in Asia, China. I also grow one, yellowish-orange.
