this morning’s cup of tea . . .
. . . in my favorite pottery tea mug. Okay, it might have been made for coffee as well __Bill has a similar design he uses for coffee__ but I can’t stand coffee’s bitterness and won’t allow coffee to be served in this mug! I also love loose leaf teas, something that is hard to find locally so I order it online. Oddly, I did find this clever tea infuser in a local shop, with plenty of room that allows tea leaves to expand and its own silicone tray to catch drips. It hangs on the side of a cup for brewing.

What an awesome infuser! I can't seem to find one with tiny enough holes that holds all the bits and pieces of tea. I will drink it with some floating around in my cup, but I'd rather not. I love your sketch!
ReplyDeleteThis one works so much better than the other designs in my drawer, and being able to rest it on the mug rim, then catch the drips makes it so useful! We found it at a kitchen gift shop in Brenham. The only downside is the stretchy seal thing. The original eventually wore out — I’ve replaced it with those tiny clear “rubber” bands made for hair. They wear out fast but are cheap.
DeleteI just found it on Amazon:

Thanks, Vicky!
DeleteThat drip feature though ... genius. Your sketch is lovely Vicky.
ReplyDeleteIt is! I can set the tea strainer down anywhere.
