Now that my left eye's swelling is gone, I am better able to focus enough to sketch it. The "white" of the eye was very red, not from the surgery but from the "trauma" of being worked on. Not as scary as it looked!
My left and right eyes are not playing well together, with 2 cataracts still in the right one. But I have surgery on the right one this Thursday, after which I will be able to see without glasses. So worth it!
Sending you well wishes for your quick recovery! God bless you, Vicky!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jana! Your friendship is a special treasure.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you!
What a lovely thing to say... Thank you, Vicky!
DeleteYou are God's gift to me... :)
I suppose this the surgery it she will have been with the laser. This makes to me happy that everything improves in a suitable way. Even if an operation is absent yet, the day to have a spectacular vision approaches...
ReplyDeleteGood sketch!
KInd regards
No, a laser was not used. Through a tiny needle insertion, the doctor broke up and removed my damaged lens, then inserted a new acrylic lens (rolled up) and positioned it in place. It's a bit like having contact lens but permanently on the inside of my eye.
ReplyDeleteHowever they do it, I am thankful for restored vision. My grandmother went blind and it's not a fun thing to deal with.
My mom recently went through laser surgery. One eye, then the other. She is greatly improved. Hoping the very best for you. Your drawing is a wonderful and honest account of every day as it matters.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Owen. I'm glad your mom is doing well. The technology used is amazing!
