cactus bloom!

Last year we planted prickly pear cactus in front of our barn-house and the plants have thrived through the cool winter and wetter-than-average spring. Sometimes a pad would break off — Bill just popped it into the soil somewhere else and it took off growing as well!

Bill took a photo of this, our very first bloom, a couple of weeks ago just before it fully opened. Last Wednesday I drew it from the photo while I was waiting for my chemo infusion — the last straight lines I was able to draw for a while as the chemo causes my hands to shake for about a week!

  1. Beautiful sketch, Vicky!
I haven't been here for a time, as we are having our first grandchild and I was helping my daughter for some weeks. Now I read the news, up to the newest one. Wishing you strength, God's help and hope, we are praying for you 🥰.

    1. Oh, Jana! How exciting!! I am so happy for you. Our first grandchild is now a lovely young lady in college — and still a complete delight, as are our other 4 grandchildren.

This cancer battle has been challenging and sometimes very discouraging, but the Lord shows Himself strong on my behalf! I believe more and more that there is complete healing at the end of this journey.
