new sketchbook, random bits
Over the past week, I added a bit here and there to the first pages of my new sketchbook. Eclectic and unplanned. The paints I put together in this “landscape” palette include several colors I’ve never used before.
I must admit always being a little intimidated with breaking in a new sketch book - I remember being like that as a child with a new text book - the first page ALWAYS had to look the best as it was what you saw first (or so I believed!) once I got past that, then the book reverted to my usual scruffy style - bit like my sketch books now 😁
I’ve kept sketchbooks since around 2007 and that first page _still_ intimidates me! That’s why the first page always includes my palette or pens in some way — and even then, I may think about arrangement or style for days! I don’t know why we are so demanding on ourselves when those loose (or even “scruffy”) pages I see others doing bring me such delight!
